Christine you were an amazing woman with a pure heart and compassion for all who was in your life, you never held back showing love and kindness for family and friends , as a teacher who loved interacting with children always went above and beyond for her students just shows the person she was . Your community has lost a wonderful woman who will not be forgotten. I will always be grateful for the quiet times we shared together talking and laughing on the phone or at the house. I love you Christine and you will be missed dearly but I no when I go home we’ll be laughing again together.

Rest in peace Dr. Russo ! So grateful to have had you as a teacher to our children . Your love of writing and reading inspired and left a legacy on all of the kids you’ve taught . I was one of your class moms and enjoyed those memories of field trips and class projects with you. Our deepest condolences to your family .

My sincerest condolences to the family. Mrs. Russo was my 5th grade teacher at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School in Greenlawn during the 1974-1975 school year. I can still remember singing songs like "God Bless America" after saying the Pledge of Allegiance. It was a better time. Rest in Peace Mrs. Russo.

I was extremely blessed to have this beautiful, caring, humble Fiorella woman as my Godmother! She’s always been there for me and words couldn’t even express how much she was there for me when I needed her the most! She and my father talked every single day, so she always knew everything that was going on with me. She knew my dad was always my words of encouragement, my motivator and my biggest cheerleader. Christine Fiorella Russo has become my words of encouragement after my dad passed and I couldn’t be more grateful to of had her love and support! She truly was such a beautiful soul. Christine. I love you. I adore you. And most of all I thank you for being the Fiorella flame that I need in life! Thank you for constantly checking up on me. I know towards the end you couldn’t hear me on our phone calls, now as an angel I’ll tell you all about our days. I’m going to miss your words of wisdom, kind heart and most of all your voice. I love you christine.

Dr. Fiorella-Russo was my second grade teacher and the best one I ever had. She invited all of us to her wedding in April, 1960. She was supposed to have come back and be my 3rd, grade teacher, also. But she took a job teaching in Long Island. It was impossible not to pay attention when she taught. Whether it was English, Phonics, Math, Science... I learned so much from her. Thank you, Dr. Fiorella-Russo. I am the person I am today because of you.. Education was great because of you.
