I worked with Maureen for many many years at Gelinas Junior High School when we were young folks and as time passed, when we became, older folks. So much time and so many memories; to say that we grew-up together would minimize or even trivialize our time together; she brought so much to so many for so long.
Maureen was so well read, she could speak on a myriad of topics from the arts to politics, from history to events which impacted our lives- no holds barred- Maureen called it as she saw it- she was as refreshing and as honest in her assessments as anyone who I have ever known.
I’ve been around the block for a time or two and there isn’t a doubt in my mind that my life was enriched by my friendship and by my association with my friend and colleague, Maureen.
Rest peacefully my dear Maureen- thank you so very much.
With love to you.

I was so sorry to hear of Maureen’s passing. I did not know her long, but she and Richard quickly became one of my favorite residents at Sunrise. I had the pleasure of having them at one my tables in the dining room and Maureen always made me smile and at the end of each meal, I would ask, “the usual” for dessert and it was always an of course. A scoop of chocolate and a scoop of strawberry ice cream. Although I have left working at Sunrise pursuing my dream job of nursing at a hospital, I happened to fill in at the desk on Saturday and was devastated with the news when I arrived. Maureen coming down with Frank several times a day will stay in my memories. Maureen was a truly lovely person and will be missed.

The big question at the end of the school day was how can we get some cookie dough, granola and chocolate wafer pie without getting in trouble! Mrs. C's amazing goodies!! She had a built in mixer!! Rides to the beach, lending books, she was a happy mom with a great smile and laugh. So much love for her family....and Mr. C...you lucky man...what a beautiful marriage....I am especially thinking about you today. You are all in my heart.

I guess I could say if it weren’t for Maureen, I would not own the Main Street Cafe. She and I were taking an adult -education class at the northport high school. She asked me if I would like to be the every other weekend manager during ski season. Well… ski season came and went and I stayed. Maureen and I never graduated from the bridge class, but became fast friends. We will all miss her cheery disposition and Irish soda bread! God bless you and your family during this difficult time.
