Obituary of James Giordano

James “Jimmy” Edward Giordano born July 20, 1945 passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023 surrounded by family members. Jimmy was a native of Northport, NY, graduated from Northport High School and lived in Morristown, NJ. the last 12 years. Jimmy was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Randolph, NJ. and he Loved the Lord.
He is survived by his brother Matthew and his wife Donna, his brother Herb and his wife Karen, his nephew and Godson David Giordano and his wife Daisy Gupta, nephew Ron Kessler and his fiancée Angela, niece Carole Kessler and husband Steve Mellman and their children Anjara and Sarai, nephew Matthew Giordano and his wife Ali and their children Mia and Ryan, niece Rebecca Ellen and husband Michael Canale and their children Michael Jr. and Mia, and niece Lianne Johnson and her children Kevin and William.
Jimmy is a Naval veteran from the Vietnam War era. Jimmy enjoyed a variety of music. He was a drummer and lead vocalist with the Torquays, a band he led beginning in the early 1960s. His many interests included guitarist, baking, fishing, photography, golf, bird watching, building bird houses, traveling, playing basketball, and restoring his 1957 Mercedes Benz 190SL. Jimmy was deeply loved by many friends. He had a loving and caring heart for everyone he met and will be missed by all. Jimmy lived his life as a free spirit who did everything his way with a demeanor of love and compassion.
Services will be at Nolan Funeral Home 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, NY. Visitation from 12:30pm to 2:30pm on Saturday, September 16. A graveside service will be at St. Philip Neri Cemetery 99 Laurel Road East Northport, N.Y. at 3:00pm. Repast to follow at 4pm at the Mill Pond House 437 East Main Street, Centerport, NY.
