I slept through most of the semester-long class that I was in with Adrienne at Stony Brook University. I remember sitting in the "end hall lounge," our shared kitchen in the O'Neil dorm connecting the women's wing (F2) with the guy's wing (G2). Adrienne came into the kitchen around 10pm, saw me sitting there, and asked me if I was ready for the final exam the next morning. I was a 100% lock to fail that exam and the class, and I think she took pity on me, and gave me her notebook from the semester. I sat up all night reading her meticulous notes from every class of the semester, as well as her insights and comments next to those notes. When she came into the kitchen the next morning, I handed her notebook back to her, and thanked her. We walked to the test together. I received an "A" in the class. This memory of Adrienne, for me, really captures the rare and precious gifts she so freely offered others. Adrienne was a kind, thoughtful, funny, compassionate, understanding, and generous human. The exact type of person who we need more of in this world today. Instead, she was taken, at much too early an age, to do her angelic work elsewhere. Adrienne was called home to uplift others and share her love in the heavenly realm. For us, it is an unimaginable loss, and a painful reminder of the impermanence of life. However, in time we will all be joined together again in joy. Al, my heart goes out to you and your children and family. I can only imagine how special "Age" was and still is to you all. She will be kept alive in all of our hearts and minds. Blessings and peace to you all.
Much Love,
Dan Elsen

I am going to miss her. She was a great friend as well as a neighbor. We used to walk around the neighborhood together. So sad.

When I think of Adrienne, I think of family. Growing up with her I spent almost as much time with her family as my own. Her grandmother, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins treated me as one of their own. I was lucky. And as an adult, family grew more important with her own children and Al. We will all miss you and that family has a void. God Bless her family and friends.
