Tim and I crossed paths numerous times over the past (30) years, replacing each other in various bands as lead vocalists. We also performed together in a band where I had the pleasure and blessing to listen to his amazing vocals, and during breaks to appreciate Tim as a lovely and witty man. One day around (15) years ago Tim called and said he had an offer to record original songs with the famous guitarist Phil Grande, but he felt the songs weren’t right for him, but he had recommended me to record the vocals. PS, I did record an album’s worth of material with Phil who also became a close friend. I will always remember Tim’s talents and kindness. God bless the Lawless family. RIP Tim ❤️

Tim --- You blessed this planet with your charisma, your caring character, your charm - and just by being, YOU. You've also blessed us all with what Jamie and Randy G. (and many more of us) called your "Golden Throat." That sublime voice -- YOUR VOICE that lifted us all and that we couldn't get enuf of. Your voice touched me - like many of us - beyond words, and made me aspire to getting better; - being better. (Do you know how many vocal trax you replaced of mine??!! NOT surprisingly!!!) Sharing a house with you, and really getting to know you was MY good fortune. Lotsa laughs on Elwood Rd! So, Dear Tim, it's your time to bless heaven - or to wherever your next journey takes you - and bless IT with all of your splendor and talent. May you continue to sprinkle your 'Golden Notes' from your 'Golden Throat' --- like Golden Glitter --- all across the Universe. Rest peacefully and with love, Timmy Lawless. We'll miss you. What else can be said about the amazing Tim Lawless ? A lot. He was a sweet and funny man, he had a singing voice that mortals only dream about having, I told some friends that in my next life I’ll sing half as good as Tim. I was lucky to have performed with him around LI and NYC over the years. Tim will be missed ! Sympathies to his family and others who were lucky to have known him. Hal Goldstein

At my 40th H.F. reunion-He told me how he always remembered me. I could not believe how kind those words were and what they meant to me.He was my earliest "Rock and Roll" idles.Prayers to his whole family.

I have known Timmy, and his whole fabulous family, since the mid 1960's. He had such a beautiful voice that I asked him to sing at my wedding ceremony in 1971. He sang like an angel. I saw him occasionally through the years and always marveled at his commitment to music. He can only improve the heavenly choir.

Timmy was always the life of the party even when we're kids. Always smiling always laughing. His voice was a gift from heaven and I know he's up there singing with all the angels! May your family and friends be comforted with all the beautiful memories we have of Tim.Thoughts are with his daughter and all my Lawless cousins.

Here is a picture (courtesy Paul Tuttle via Bob Myers) of our band Sweetback just before we enlisted Jimmy Yaeger. We had the best times in that band with Tim being the highlight. We had the ace in the hole, Tim Lawless and his amazing voice , who could sing the baritone likes of Barry White or the sweet falsetto of Ronnie Isley. But even better than all that was Tim singing like Tim. Always an inspiration, although it came to Tim so naturally, we became a favorite of many a Long Islander. Especially fun was playing at Tueys in Setauket on monday nights. Playing all those years with Tim starting in jr high school through our early 20's was some of the best times I had had in my life. Besides being such a great singer he was hysterically funny and of course a wildman. Best of all a great friend to me and all who knew him. I spoke with him awhile back as he was starting to feel better and spoke of coming up to visit us upstate and wanting to get an acoustic guitar and start writing music again. He will be missed . I will miss him. I do have such great memories of my time spent with him that i will never forget. Love you Tim....
