One of my fondest memories of Donald is from the late 1970s. Donald was studying in Heidelberg, I was studying in Kaiserslautern.
One day Donald bought an old car for cheap money and spontaneously decided to drive 340 miles from Heidelberg to Paris for breakfast.
On the way back, his old car broke down. But Don was a lucky guy, because it happened right near Kaiserslautern, so I was able to bail him out. The car was junk.
Despite the situation, we both had a good laugh about it.
