Obituary of Jeffrey A. Logan

Jeffrey A. Logan of Northport on October 5, 2023. Beloved husband of Therese. Loving father of Kelly (James) Freeman and Nicole (Martin) Boese. Cherished grandfather of Madeline, Jacqueline, Lucille, Evan and Charlette. Dear brother of Elisbeth Logan, Judith Cheever and the late Leslie O'Carroll. Memorial Visitation 3 - 7 PM on Wednesday with words of remembrance beginning at 7 PM.

Jeff was many things; a husband, father, grandfather and brother and so much more.

He was an avid sailor.  He was the Commodore of Eaton’s Light Yacht Club and won the coveted Adair Cup.  He took his wife and daughters on so  many sailing adventures always returning with many tales of the sea. Later on Jeff and his grandson Evan shared sailing experiences together.

He also perfected the corny joke. He had the amazing ability of making his grandchildren all groan in unison as well as having a class of yoga students  perform the “rolling of the eyes” asana.

Jeff began his practice of yoga in 1982 with Mary Dunn as his mentor.  He has been teaching since 1992, and has studied with the Iyengars in Pune, India.

He founded his own yoga studio on Long Island in 2002, Body & Soul in Huntington, NY.  He was also on faculty at the NY Iyengar Institute. (IYAGNY)

Jeff has been interviewed frequently on the subject of yoga by many publications including Newsday,  Runner’s World, AARP and Yoga Journal. He has authored a chapter in a book on yoga and its modern day teaching that is being published under the auspices of the Philosophy Department of SUNY Buffalo.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to The Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York
