Obituary of Mary E. Rieger

RIEGER - Mary E., formerly of East Northport, NY. Mary passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, surrounded by family. Mary was the heart and soul of her large and loving family. She was a very involved and supportive grandmother. Whether you called her Mom, Grandma, Nana or GG, you always felt special and loved. Mary was dedicated to her Catholic faith and very active in the Church. She worked at Good Shepherd in Holbrook for over 30 years, retiring as business manager. Mary joins her husband John in Heaven. Devoted mother of children: Mary Anne (Thomas Watson), Barbara (Mark Zemcik), Susanne (Phil Hupcher), John (Ellen), James (Marianne), Dianne (Geoff Hayden) and Don. Cherished grandmother of 17. Adoring great grandmother of 10. Also loved by many nieces and nephews and treasured friends. Visitation Thursday, 2-5 & 7-9 PM, Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Ave, Northport. Funeral Mass Friday, 11:15 AM. St. Anthony of Padua Church, East Northport. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
