Obituary of Henri B. Elzinga

Henri was 86 years old and passed away peacefully in his home with loved ones present on Sunday, October 29th, 2023. 

He was born in Ladysmith, WI to Henry and Anne Elzinga. He attended the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and he graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts. He dabbled in theatre when living in New York City before he co-founded Barnes and Noble. He is known for his gregarious nature and story telling which would light up the room. “He lived the lives of 10 men” 

Henri was preceded in death by his wife Patricia A Elzinga, sister Anne Kochever and brother Jerry Elzinga. He is survived by his daughters Michelle (Jose) Elzinga-Diaz, Danielle DeBenedittis and  Jeannine (John) Elzinga-DePaola and twin brother Harry Elzinga and his wife Naomi. Cherished grandfather of Devin, Darcy, Sabrina & Dante.

Services will be held on November 3rd between the hours of 2-5pm and 7-9pm.
