Obituary of Ann M. McGrath
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Ann McGrath of East Northport, NY, on November 23, 2023 at the age of 94. The cause of death was a sudden heart attack. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and survived by her five children, Ann (Ed) Rial, Margaret (Mark) Halama, Michael (Kristin) McGrath, Jim (Laura) McGrath and Chris McGrath, and eight grandchildren, Julia, Peter, John, Katie, Matthew, Marcella, Maximilian and Magnus. She is also survived by her brother John (Kay) Mullen and sister Margaretta (Ray) Lavallee, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful mother, full of life and a great sense of humor. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her children and grandchildren. These gatherings always included lots of food, laughs, and stories, and often a Cosmo or two! She was able to spend time with her extended family this past summer, which made her very happy. She was planning to travel to California for her granddaughter’s wedding celebration in 2024. There was nothing she was unwilling to do to be with her family. She will be greatly missed but we are comforted by the knowledge that she has been reunited with her husband and relatives who have predeceased her. A celebration of life is planned for summer, 2024. She will then be interred with her husband at Long Island National Cemetery.
