Obituary of John Anthony Favara
JOHN ANTHONY FAVARA
June 26, 1975-January 20, 2024
John Anthony Favara, age 48 originally from Huntington, NY, and currently residing in Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on January 20, 2024.
John is predeceased by his father, Anthony John Favara. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother Ava Favara; three younger sisters, Jeannie Favara Kennedy, Christine Favara Monti, and Maria Favara; and his two brothers-in-law, Bryan and Rob. John's enduring memory will live on through his nieces and nephews; Lexie, Ashlie, Jack, Kayla, Brynn, Chase, and Gianna, whom he cherished beyond words. He is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles and cousins. John valued his family above all things and took great pride in being a part of a close-knit, loving family.
In his life journey, John found fulfillment and happiness in the vibrant communities of Florida, where he shared countless moments of joy with his friends and family. It is in Florida that he met his best friend Rachael Levy, who, throughout the course of their relationship, provided unwavering support and companionship.
John's personality was larger than life. He can credit his father for passing on his charisma and sense of humor. He captivated every room he walked into instantly. He woke up every morning at 4AM to make time for uninterrupted prayer and meditation, which kept him contagiously optimistic, humble and focused. His intense faith in God carried him through both the happiest and most challenging times of his journey and he savored and appreciated every day that he shared with us. He was a true lover of life and cherished every moment on this planet, as he considered every day to be a gift. Unlike so many, he knew during his lifetime how fleeting it was and he genuinely valued the simple pleasures in the everyday- an amazing sunset or a beautiful hydrangea he passed while "getting his steps in". He would not start his day without sharing with those closest to him (especially his mother) an inspiring scripture or uplifting quote that was meaningful to him. John was a true gift to this world and to all who were blessed to know him.
The family invites friends and well-wishers to join them in remembering and celebrating John's life.
Visitation will be held at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport New York 11768, with a viewing scheduled for Friday, February 16th, from 3PM-7PM. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, February 17th, at 9:15 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 400 Main Street, Huntington NY 11743.
John's warmth, kindness, and love will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
