Obituary of Ray Maloney

Maloney, Raymond C. "Ray" on April 3, 2024, of Northport in his 85th Year. Beloved husband for 37 years of the late Patricia (Patti) Maloney (nee Watkins),  close companion of Carole Quinn. Loving father of Raymond C. Maloney (Janine), Katherine C. Farrington (Tony), John W. Maloney (Suzanne) and Kevin C. Maloney (Jenna Byer). Proud grandfather of Raymond M. Maloney, Brenna C. Farrington (Marco A. Dominguez), Joshua R. Maloney, Ryan A. Farrington, Michael A. Maloney, Connor J. Farrington, Quinn W. Maloney and Nora M. Maloney. Caring brother to Judy, Jane, Eileen, Michael, Laura, Tim, Joe, Mary and Pat.   Ray loved Northport and served in many organizations including American Legion Post #694 and the Northport-East Northport Kiwanis Club.  He was an active member of the Northport Fire Department for over 60 years and served in the Rescue Squad from 1963-1993.  Ray also served as Safety Officer “SO-1” for this department and was Suffolk County Deputy Fire Coordinator – Safety Officer “FC-40” 2009-present.  Notably, Ray was the Executive Chef preparing and overseeing most if not all of the largest Fire Department dinners and events.  For 20 years Ray served in the Air National Guard in the 106th Rescue Wing in West Hampton Beach, retiring as a Fire Chief at the rank of Master Sergeant.  Ray had a very successful career in marketing and sales, traveling around the world to bring the latest computer technology systems to his customers.  Ray had many close friends and he never met a stranger; Ray always had a friendly smile and a story for anyone willing to listen.
