I've known Pam for about 10 years as she was a patient of mine numerous times for physical therapy. When I was informed by a coworker she passed today I was heartbroken. She was a genuinely sincere, caring and happy person. I never saw her without a smile on her face and she always brought a smile to ours. As other posters already stated, she loved her family dearly and spoke of them often. Condolences to her family from our staff. She was a great person that will be missed dearly.

Kerri and Todd, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I remember your mother from junior high - she was such a cheerful, warm kid - the kind of person I wished I could be. I reconnected with her recently, mostly at the library, where I found that she'd grown into an unwaveringly lovely, warm, caring, and cheerful woman - the kind of grownup we should all aspire to be. Your great loss is also such a loss for our entire community. My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with you and your family.

Pam, was a teacher to my children, my neighbor, my friend. She was always so kind to my son. Seeing her at the beach, or the library we would have great conversations about how our children were doing. We both became grandmothers recently, that was our last conversation. I will miss her so. A loving, sweet, funny, sincere lady. She will always be in my heart.

Four of my children were blessed to have been in Mrs. Long's class at OMS. They each spoke of her fondly and individually described her gift to make each student feel special and important. My daughter Emily was also in her homeroom. As an entering 6th grader, she was upset that her homeroom was on the first floor while most of her friends had homerooms on the third floor. She quickly realized that was a blessing in disguise when she met Mrs. Long! She fondly recalled that Mrs. Long hosted breakfasts in homeroom and took great care to bring food and drinks that each student enjoyed! Emily was especially touched as Mrs. Long presented each of the graduating eighth graders with a personal gift that reflected their individual talents and interests. As a parent, I am extremely grateful that my children were influenced by this very special teacher who obviously knew the importance of affirming and mentoring children at this very critical age! Each time we met her in the hallways of OMS or at the library, she greeted us with a beautiful smile and caring, pleasant conversation. She was truly a beautiful person, inside and out; and we are blessed to have had our children taught and influenced by her. May she rejoice in Heaven with our Father and the Angels!

February 21st was a very sad day for the Centerport and Harborfields community. We lost one of the kindest, most down-to-earth, friendly, supportive, caring, nurturing, positive, happy, thoughtful persons I could ever hope to meet, Ms Pamela Ello (Long)...so unexpectedly and at such a young age...so close to a well-deserved retirement. She was so good to all of our children as their technology teacher inspiring them to create, so personable, so good to all patrons of the Harborfields Public Library, especially when they needed computer help or help locating anything...so patient...always smiling...always interested in what you had to say...just a cool, nice person. I will miss our chats about life, about our children, about teaching, her presence at HBCA Family Day, her sense of humor and her joyful presence...such a light! We will really all miss you Ms Long...although you'll always be Ms Ello to me and my family. Thank you for all you shared with us...your knowledge, your time and your spirit. Rest in peace for all of eternity.

I had the fortune to have Ms. Ello as my technology teacher in fifth grade - my first year of middle school and I remember knowing I was going to have a great time when she mentioned we were going to "dissect" a floppy disk.
I later had the fortune to work with Ms. Ello when she started up the Teens Connect program at the Harborfields Library which eventually led to me doing a summer internship with another non-profit devoted to helping the elderly learn to use computers.
Overall she was an excellent teacher and I was very glad to have the opportunities I did to work with her.

Her affect on the world around her leaves a legacy that only the luckiest of the luckiest have experienced. I am forever grateful to have my life touched by this true Angel. Rest in peace, Mrs. Ello. Dear Pam,
You were my role model. I told you that often. Our friendship grew out of mutual caring and admiration, and was cemented by our passion for music.
You brought joy, and warmth and love into every life that you touched. Your energy and enthusiasm for life, and your pure love of people was a bright light in a sometimes very dim world.
You were an inspiration in the way you mothered your children. They were blessed to have such an incredible mother and such an inspiring person to teach and guide them into adulthood.
You were a sensitive soul, but your personal courage and strength inspired me.
I will miss you, my friend. Yet, I know you are not really gone. You will be here in spirit watching over your children and grandchildren. I pray that they will feel your presence.
Safe passage, Sweet Pam. May we meet again someday on the other side.

Dear Todd and Keri,
I am deeply saddened to hear of your mother's sudden passing. Your mother Pam was truly one of a kind. I worked with her for several years
at the middle school many years ago and was always amazed by her energy, upbeat attitude, sincere interest in her students, and her fine sense of humor. She was a sheer joy to be around..
I also always enjoyed seeing her at the library.Your mom always met me with a giant smile and we would happily chat about our love for our children and teaching. She was always so interested in what my kids were up to and so proud of the two of you..
The bottom line is that your mom had a true gift to make everyone she touched feel genuinely special.I am so sorry that such a caring, fun, compassionate, intelligent, strong, yet so very gentle soul, and loving mother was taken too soon.I, like so many others in the Harborfields community, was privileged to have known her.My heart goes out to the both of you...May she rest in eternal peace...

Having Ms. Ello as a Tech 2 Teacher in 7th and 8th grade was a blast. She was the sweetest lady who knew how to make anything fun. She helped me when I was struggling and was always an encouragment :) Not only was she my teacher, but was also a high school friend of my uncle, as well as a librarian in the Harborfields Community. It was a blessing having her for Tech, as well as seeing her at the Public Library every so often. She was someone so easy to talk to who you could always have a great conversation with. I'll never forget her Tech saying "Save as you go". She said it so our computer work wouldn't ever get lost. Now I find it so meaningful, as if it means "Save the memories and lessons as your life goes on." Ms. Ello will forever hold a place in my heart. She comes to mind whenever I make a powerpoint, and truly impacted me with her positive attitude and kindness. Gone but never forgotten <3 xoxo
