Obituary of Mary E. White

Mary E. White February 19th, 1930 – August 6th, 2024

Mary White, beloved matriarch of the White family, passed away on August 6 th , at age 94. Mary was the steadfast heart of her family. Her love and unwavering support were the foundation upon which her family was built. She was the epitome of grace, kindness, and strength. Mary was married to Bob White (now deceased) for 59 years. They raised their family on Mayflower Court in Centerport. She is survived by her loving children: Susan White, Ellen White-Francis (husband Jim), and Bill White, as well as her adoring grandchildren: Kristin, Meghan, Katlyn, Brittany, Ryan, Nicole, Melissa, and Michele, and her great grandchildren: Nunzio, Lena, and Onofrio.

Mary and her sister Dorothy grew up in Queens, NY, before each marrying and moving to Long Island to raise their families. Mary was an avid floral designer and gardener, and was an active member of the Centerport Garden Club for 65 years. Mary and Bob lived life to the fullest, traveling and spending time building countless memories with their closest life-long friends from their "Dinner Group." Mary will live on in the lessons she taught and the memories we made together.

Visitation will be at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, on Sunday, August 11th from 2 - 4:30pm and 7- 9pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 12th, at 10am at St. John's Episcopal Church, Main Street, Huntington.
