Obituary of Fred S. Mosher

Mosher, Fred S. on November 2, 2024, in his 81st year of East Northport, formerly of Northport, and originally from Greenlawn. Loving husband of Lillian. Caring father of Fred S. Mosher, Jr. (Margaret Kolbe) and Douglas B. Mosher (Krista Costa). Fond grandfather of Gillian Mosher, Genna Mosher, Benjamin Mosher, Bridget Mosher and Matthew Mosher. Fred met Lillian when they were 16 years old at the Presbyterian church of Greenlawn and moved to Northport to raise a family. They have been married for 61 years. He was a proud member of Plumbers' local 200 like his dad. He was also a welding instructor at the plumbers' apprentice school for many years and held numerous leadership positions. Fred enjoyed people and was always happy to lend an ear or talk your ear off. He was a former elder, deacon, choir remember and property and maintenance committee chairperson at the first Presbyterian church of Northport. He enjoyed helping others and used to deliver thanksgiving dinner boxes from the food pantry. He raised 2 Eagle Scouts and was a proud leader of Troop 41 back in the 70's and 80's. He built 3 of the homes he lived in and was a skilled jack of all trades. Sometimes his desire for perfection made projects last twice the amount of time they should. After 50 years as a Plumber, he retired and got certified as a boat captain, drove a bus and worked briefly for the Northport Building department as an inspector. He enjoyed life and loved his wife obsessively to the end. Reposing Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport Thursday November 7th, 5-8 PM. Funeral Service Friday November 8th, Time 11 AM, at First Presbyterian Church of Northport, Pastor Rachel Vionne presiding. Interment to follow at Northport Rural Cemetery.
