Obituary of Annella Teresa Low
Annella (Nell) Teresa Mystkowski Low, 90, originally from East Northport, NY, passed away at Laurel Glen Assisted Living and Memory Care in Stephenville, TX, on October 30, 2024, after suffering a fall.
Annella was born on February 1, 1934, to Wladyslaw (Walter) Mystkowki and Aniela (Nell) Perkowski Mystkowski in East Northport, NY. After graduating from Northport High School in 1951, Annella went on to study nursing at the Brooklyn School of Nursing and became a registered nurse.
Annella briefly worked as an airline stewardess but eventually worked as a nurse at Brooklyn Hospital. It was in Brooklyn where she met John (Jack) James Low whom she married on June 19, 1956. Annella and Jack went on to have two children, John James Low and Arthur Andrew Low.
Annella was an extremely talented artist who painted in various mediums. While in high school, she won a national award for creating a poster for the American Automobile Association. While working as a nurse in pediatric practices, she would spend her free time painting and reading. She was a member of the Huntington Art League for many years.
In 2004, Annella retired from being a nurse and spent her time painting and with the Red Hat Society in East Northport. In 2011, she moved to Texas to be cared for by her sons.
Annella was predeceased by her husband, John Low. She is survived by her sons, John Low and Arthur Low, and her granddaughter, Kelsey Low.
