Obituary of Camillo Foglia
Camillo (Carl) Foglia -
Carl was born and raised in East New York, Brooklyn on June 15, 1927. He was one of six children who worked in the family business which was a butcher shop.
After High School, Carl joined the Merchant Marines and served his country during WWII. After the war, Carl started his own limousine car service and in doing so met his future wife Victoria.
Carl loved Northport and moved to Eaton's Neck where he served in the community with the Eaton's Neck Fire Department as Captain of the Fire Police. Carl owned the Northport Meat Market and ran it for many years with the help of his two sons, Tom & Jim; he was known as "Carl the Butcher". After he sold the family business, Carl bought a limousine and drove it until he was in his 80's. Finally after retiring, he helped out his good friend Joe, owner of the Ritz Café. Carl would refer to the Ritz as his "office". Carl loved being at the Ritz and meeting people there. He was a true people person, the unofficial Mayor of Northport and he loved to laugh.
Carl was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather to his wife Victoria, daughters Elizabeth and the late Joan, sons Thomas and James, grandchildren Angela, Gina, Olivia, Nickolas, Anthony and Mia, and great grandchild Sophia.
