I could never thank Mrs. Abbott enough for all the love and support through the years. I cherished the Sunday evenings with the MYF. No matter how I was feeling, I would feel the love from her the moment I would enter the room.
The love she provided could bolster me up during the toughest of times.
You will always have a big place in my heart.
We will miss Ethel and all of the dedication and hard work that she gave to CUMC and Habitat for Humanity. Our thoughts are with her family at this time and we feel blessed for having known someone as special as Ethel.
My memories of Ethel are of her undying love and devotion to the children of our community. She was such a fixture and presence at the Centerport United Methodist Church teaching the word of God. I will miss her lovely smile and warm spirit. Rest in peace, God be with you and your family.
I had the pleasure of driving Ethel home from the Gurwin Center on Saturday. She was weary yet there for me, her driver with helpful information about heart doctors for me and Steve, delight in knowing her granddaughter will be going to college and with a special scholarship from Harborfields. She listened to my stories of recent happenings as well. She was especially grateful to CUMC and all the help people had been giving her over these last years. She praised Lisa Coneys for her delicious and appropriate meals over these last weeks. I so enjoyed my times with Ethel and greatly appreciate and admire all she has done for the Centerport Community.
