Obituary of Mary D. Reilly
It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing of my mother, Mary Reilly. Following a 11 year battle against nasal Melanoma, mom succumbed to the terrible illness in her 86th year. In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Mom was remarkable person; an intellect, a poet, a writer an artist a dancer, and in her younger years , a fashion model with the Eileen Ford Agency. Despite suffering from anxiety and depression much of her adult life, she completed a Master of Social Work Degree from Hofstra University, and had a successful career as a mental health professional with The New York State Office of Mental Health. She was active with Suffolk County Democrat politics, working as an advocate for those with mental health concerns. Upon her retirement, Mom, along with my Dad, moved from their home in Brentwood, to California, where they resided for nearly 20 years in the show business community of Woodland Hills.Mom is survived by her sons, Thomas, and Timothy, her daughters in -law, Kathleen and Christine, her grandchildren, Thomas, Samantha, Timothy, Michael, and Victoria. In addition, she leaves her brother, Kenneth, and his wife Carol Wilkening; loving nieces, Cheryl and Sharon, and great nephews, Tyler and Grayson .Waiting to greet her in heaven, will be my father Tom, her mother Mary, and her brothers; George and Robert, and her infant nephew; Kenneth.Services will be private, however, in lieu of flowers those who wish to do so, may make a small donation in Mary's memory to one of the following causes: Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital: Mskcc.org St. Jude's Children's Hospital : Shop.stjude.org Condolences may be sent to : 58 Mar-Kan Drive Northport, New York, 11768
