Joseph J. Montana, July 3, 1922 - 2014, passed away peacefully at age 92 in the Northport VA MC Community Living Center. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Joe served honorably as a Scout in the US Marines during WWII and fought in combat in the South Pacific. After the war he was a restaurateur in Brooklyn. Joe's loves were his family, friends, home, garden, and golf. He was club champion at the Dyker Beach Golf Club, Brooklyn, and senior club champion at Crab Meadow Beach. He was the golf coach for Brooklyn Prep High School in Brooklyn, and was a golf instructor for the Huntington area Adult Education classes. Joe is survived by his wife of 68 years, Josephine; his son, Gerard; daughter, Joanne, her husband Charles; daughter Nancy; and grandson, Christopher and his wife, Valerie. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 20 Cheshire Pl, East Northport, NY 11731 November 17, 2014 at 9:45am.
