Catherine Teresa Murphy Goalwin, 78, formerly of Northport, NY, died peacefully January 22, 2015. Raised in East Northport, she worked as a registered nurse for many years taking care of those often unable to take care of themselves…in a loving and Godly way reflecting her strong Catholic faith. She spent her last years in Houston sharing in the lives and adventures of several of her grandchildren. She was delighted by Ireland, her father's birthplace, and everything Irish. One of her life's highlights was the opportunity to visit the Emerald Isle with her daughter and her best friend, Kathy. She loved spending time with family and often sharing her favorite saying, "Weren't you busy." She loved baseball games, rooting for her favorite Boston Red Sox, dancing, love stories, music, and watching Castle, the TV show with her grandson, Timothy. Catherine was the eldest child of Denis and Margaret Murphy. She married Robert in 1958, and was the beloved mother of Robert, James and Kathryn, and their spouses Pamela, Dee, and Terry. She was the devoted grandmother of Gregory, Jacqueline, Alanna, Timothy, Steven, Savannah, Sean, and Sarah. She was the loving sister of the late Margaret Murphy, Denise Scheer, Eileen , the late Denis, Mary Ann, and Patricia…and will be dearly missed.
