AYER, Joan Beatrice, of Asharoken, N.Y. passed on April 24th, at Huntington Hospital in her 84th year. Beloved wife of 63 years of George L. Ayer and devoted mother of George L. Ayer, III (d.) Beatrice A. Vogel and husband Charlie, Tracy Ayer Aboff, Debbon Ayer and husband Rob Morrow and Michael J. Ayer. Loving grandmother to Hannah and Georgia Vogel, Amelia Aboff, Tu Morrow and Isabella, Liliana, Billion and Michaela Ayer. She was founder and Director of "The Place": Concepts For Narcotics Prevention, Inc. in Northport, N.Y., Founder and Board member of The Pedersen-Krag Mental Health Services in Huntington, N.Y. Member of the Northport Yacht Club, Northport Tennis Club and Editor of the Norwood Avenue School Publications. Winner of many community service awards for her work on Long Island, gifted artist, and poet.
