Harold Stager Harned, 90 of Northport, NY on August 4, 2012 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester MA after a long battle with diabetes and alzheimer's disease. Devoted Husband of Esther Lillian Harned (nee Young). Loving Father of Robert Dana Harned and his wife Noreen and Bruce Scott Harned and his wife Lisa. Cherished Grandfather of Robin Faith Burke and her Fiancee George Farrington, and Adam Scott Harned and his wife Kimberly. Great Grandfather of Mason Harold Burke, and Brianna Lynn Harned. Dear son of the Late Alfred and Mabel Harned. Fond brother of the late Robert, the late Alfred and sister in law the late Roberta (nee Petite), and infant twin sister Shirley. Also loved by his nephews Timothy James Harned and wife Kathy Grant, and Ronald Splatt and wife Linda. Harold was a devoted member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Northport for many years. Harold was a Purple Heart recipient during WWII with the US Army Air Corps. Serving in th 254th Field Artillery from 1943 to 1946 and Participated in the Battle of the Buldge. Funeral Service at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 270 Main St. Northport, Thursday 10 am. Burial will follow at Northport Rural Cemetery with military honors.
