Albina "Bea" McClain, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7th in West Islip, NY. Bea was born on a farm in Warren, Ohio and there she first learned her lifelong skills in caring for plants. She moved to New York City and worked for many years in restaurants. Bea will always be remembered for her kindness, strength, green thumb and tenacity. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Grech and her husband, Joseph Grech, of Northport, NY; Gale Polak of Lake Mary, Florida, and Kim McClain and Kim's husband, Brian Smith, of Glastonbury, CT; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Calling hours are 2-5 & 7-9pm on May 11th at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, Northport, NY. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on May 12th at St. Philip Neri Church. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to your favorite charity.
