Katherine was my project editor at Macmillan College Publishing Company. I was the Managing Editor. I learned of her passing at least five years after it occurred, and that news knocked me off my feet. It still does. You see, I saw her every day at work, assigned her projects, counted on her for her diligence and graciousness and kindness, and thought of her as my second in command. We all worked so hard to get books published on time for college adoptions, and Katherine rarely missed a beat. She was a gem, a wonderful person, someone I thought would always be there. I can't say enough good things about Katherine. Yes, it's been 10 years, but she lives on in our memories, doesn't she? She will always be in mine. God bless you, Katherine. John Sollami
