Jirinec, Charles of East Northport passed away on February 5, 2019 at age 100+ after a short illness. An accomplished man, athlete, WW2 B-26 Bomber pilot, and beloved math and science teacher in the Northport school district. He enjoyed carpentry, camping, fishing, devoting time to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Cherished husband of Florence who passed in 2001, father of Charles, Mary Ponte (Tom) and Kathleen Lettieri (the late Vincent). Beloved grandfather of John (Mary Beth), Susanne (David), Joette (Frank), Mark (Patricia), Jessica (Jason), Jeremy (Dawn), Vincent Michael (deceased), David, Anthony, and Thomas. Step grandchildren Douglas and David. Great-grandchildren Rachel, Aidan, and Logan. Visiting hours Thursday 2-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM at St. Philip Neri Church, Northport. Interment, with U.S. Army Military Honors, to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
