Nicholas Papagiannis was born on July 12, 1945 in Megara, Greece to the proud parents Ioanis and Paraskevi Papagiannis. Megara was a farming community where he and his three siblings worked and lived. He dreamed of one day coming to America for a better life. Barely a man, he left Greece on the cruise ship Olympia where he worked in the kitchen and learned how to cook and eventually become the greatest chef in the world, PERIOD! During the late 1960's and 1970's, Nick lived with his first wife Olga and their two children John and Peggy in the Plainview/Hicksville area. They were married for just over 20 years. He opened his first business named the Center Coffee Shop in Plainview NY with his business partners then eventually opened the Good Guys coffee shop in Syosset. After that, he was the night manager at the Empress Diner in East Meadow NY. Later, he spent most of his days as the owner of the Windjammer Restaurant which eventually became the Cow Harbor Inn. During that time period, he and his wife Nancy lived in the East Northport\Northport area where their three beautiful boys, Alex, Jimmy and Gregory currently reside. Nick and Nancy have been married for 21 years. Nick was an amazing, loving man. He enjoyed being on his boat, cooking, building (see the amazing things he built at his house), watching the Jets when they did not give him heartburn and spending time with his family. Most of all, Dad enjoyed the simple things in life and was always trying to make things better for everyone that he touched in his life. He never thought of himself, he always thought of others especially his family. Besides his loving wife Nancy, his five children and four grandchildren, Nick is survived by his two sisters Vasiliki and Ioanna and his only brother, Constantino. Dad, we will always love you. You will be in all our hearts forever
