"SUGAR" Kane, a Gentlemen, Officer & a Great Fireman. His sense of humor is Legendary to those who knew him. His knowledge of the job helped create many great Firemen. I was so proud to know him as my LT, but more so my friend. Jack will forever be missed. Rest in Peace My Friend.
Jack McLaughlin (Ret. 26T, former TL 138-E.289)

Jack was my favorite Lieutenant during my career in the FDNY. I drove him for many years and fondly remember him playing softball with a four finger ( circa 1940) glove! We abused him so much about it he finally showed up with a new glove. Turns out it was his daughter’s! Great man, great officer, great leader and a good friend. God bless and we will keep in our prayers. The world has lost another great one. Rick Doran

Dad, you are Finally at peace. You were a wonderful Father, Husband, Grandfather and loyal friend to many. I love how your eyes alway lit up when you were with your Grandchildren, or the way you would just stare at Mom and be smiling. I love how I would meet people from the FDNY, mention your name and they would say "Jack Kane, what a legend. You taught us all so much, most importantly that Family is what matters. I love you Dad and you will always be my Number One Hero. Love, Denise
