So sorry to hear of the passing of our dear cousin John. I will always remember how excited Zia Loreta and Zio Peppino would get when they knew "Giovanni" was going to stop over to help out with their paperwork or just to visit.
Zia Loreta would make his favorite dishes (including and especially minestrone) and Zio Peppino would make sure he had Giovanni's favorite wine.
John, a wonderful family man and highly regarded member of the community, will be sorely missed.
Pace all'anima sua.
Josie

Our deepest sympathies for your loss Gaye. John has been integral to my life for as long as I can recount. The time he devoted to me. The memories we made. All fundamental to who I am. All precious to me. Looking on my own children I often hope will be lucky enough to create the kind of moments I've shared with the both of you over the years. No excessive pomp or circumstance. Just earnest sentiment, heartfelt advice, and way WAY to much food. Always delicious, always accompanied by love and cheer. Being a part of your family will always hold the fondest of spots in my heart. Thank you for putting that flyer in the church bulletin. Thank you for taking us in and sharing your values. Thank you for letting us take part in all of it. John is a great man. I love him dearly and will miss him for the rest of my days. We love you Gaye and are prayers are with you.

The Meinen Family, Carl & Carol, Darrell, Valerie, Dwight & Dale are deeply grieved at the sudden passing of John. We have been next door neighbors & close friends for 57 years & consider each other family. Our children all grew up together sharing back yard soccer & family kick ball on our dead end street. Carl & I have enjoyed many trips together with Gaye & John from Alaska & Hawaii to the Panama Canal. John was always caring & sensitive toward everyone. His wisdom, wit & sense of humor will be sorely missed. He was truly a blessed gift from God & we are honored to have been a part of his beautiful family. He is now safely with our Lord & his son Stephen & his parents, & siblings, free from pain & suffering, Rest In Peace John, kick a few soccer balls & start the Lord’s team!

John was a splendid person and a good cousin to me. We lived far away but very close in our hearts.
I met him the first time when, moving with family from Asmara(Eritrea) to the Usa, he was a boy in his early teens and I was a very little girl. But I still remember him playing with the Italian boys of our country village. At that time he looked much more educated than the boys living here. He had attended the best European schools in Asmara and he showed this with his fluent correct Italian and also with his refined manners. He could stay here with relatives only for a very short period, enough though to develop a strong feeling of attachment to his Italian origins. I met him again on my various travels to Usa and on his travels with family to Europe. I met Gaye his wonderful wife, and his children when still very young. I have recently met Jennifer and Stephen's daughter here in Italy. I felt very sorry at learning about John's passing away on June 8, and I want to express all my sympathy to Gaye and family, to Irma and family and the rest of relative. I also want to assume and make them sure that John is in Heaven now and with Stephen, with parents, with Dario and Nancy will continue to protect his family.

John, you always welcomed everyone to your table.
Your knowledge was endless and sage advice was always heard. My love for sports was because of your love for sports. Your influence runs deep I hope you know just what an incredible role model you were to me. My love for you and all you did for me will remain forever. Until we meet again John.

John was literally a 2nd father to all the Clarke Kids. His kindness was matched only by his generosity. So many great memories including the annual Robert Moses 4th of July Gathering, Easter with it’s never ending courses and many, many backyard soccer matches. Almost all of these included wonderful food - John introduced me to Goat, Prosciutto and even his eggs and sausage cooked
on a charcoal grille at Robert Moses were delicious. John gave me many good memories and I’m forever thankful for them. We love you John. Kylee, Chandler and Caedyn.
