So sad to hear this news. Coach Willets taught me how to drive as my Driver's Ed instructor in 1972. He was a great teacher and a super nice guy. Condolences to his family and friends.

Coach Willets was my JV basketball coach for 2 years before he moved on to Varsity coaching. He coached with integrity, fairness and enthusiasm. For some reason, I still remember one of his favorite offensive plays called “Go Navy” from 62 years ago. My condolences to the Willets family. He was a good man. Rick Maier

So sorry for your loss. We had a long standing joke to call each other “Bob” from the old Crab Meadow Golf Course days (1980’s). Always a smile and a good laugh. Rest Easy, Bob! God Bless all! Jim McKenna

Hey Coach- Woody here. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to speak with you as though you were standing right next to me. I don't know if you remember but I hurt my leg playing football and you kept me on the team. I couldn't play very well, but you pushed me to the point where I finally made the first string squad. I think that happened because someone in your life pushed you to succeed in spite of your leg situation. Thank you for that! You helped make all us boys at the time into men with a future. Be seeing you soon in good time. Woody and the gang.

his face and encouraging words of support to pass on. I respected his attitude and positive nature. He will be missed. I hated
I wasn't able to connect with him in recent years on my visits to Northport. RIP Coach

I don't even know how to start -except my condolences and prayers. His daughter and I met at 4 years old. Their house was a second home, around the corner from mine. Mr. Willets to me always had a smile and sarcasm beloved. He would take us wherever we needed to go. Vivid memories of him playing golf in front yard and thats how i remember coming over to visit :)
