Helene will forever be in my heart. She introduced me to so many wonderful people in Northport and always had time for coffee and a visit. Not enough time….

My most heartfelt condolences to all of Helene's family and friends, to know her is to love her. Such a tremendous loss to the community. Helene volunteered her time with Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk for 19 years, and I had the honor and privilege of being her supervisor, she poured herself into every volunteer opportunity. Helene was active in so many realms: the hospice house in-patient facility, bereavement, the community thrift shop, and all of our events and fundraisers (and there are many!). If there was a volunteer sign up for anything Helene always offered to pitch in without hesitation. Helene brought her love and laughter to each and every volunteer role, she touched so many lives over the years. I am in awe of her selflessness and simply humbled to be a part of it. Personally, I will miss her terribly as she became a good friend and mother hen to me, she would always check in on me and had this way of knowing when I wasn't ok, when I lied and told her I was just "fine". I know any of her friends or family reading this will say, yep, because that was Helene, her compassion for others knows no bounds, I know that anyone she spent time with left in better spirits. They don't make em like her anymore... RIP my sweet friend, I will miss your smile, your humor, your kindness...but know the world is a better place because of you.
Love you much,
Bonnie

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Helene at the VNS Thrift Shop. We had a mutual love of a particular TV show and we would discuss the latest episode when we met up. I will miss her terribly. RIP Helene
