Obituary of Helene T. Dunat

Helene T. Dunat - Of Northport, on February 22, 2024, 84 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Richard (2012). Loving mother of Stephen Dunat and his wife Janice and the late Michael Dunat and his wife Stacey. Cherished grandmother of Tyler, Megan, and Lyla Grace. Dear sister of the late Gerard Ahern and his wife Laurie. Fond Aunt of Emma and Joanna. Helene voluntered for many years at various places, the John Engemann Theatre as an usher, the Visting Nurse Service Hospice House in East Northport, and the Huntington Community Thrift Shop where proceeds go to VNS Hospice of Suffolk. Helene loved her time volunteering at Hospice House in East Northport and being known for her compassion and the ease which she could bring people, she was entrusted to contact families who had previously lost a loved one for Hospice's aftercare program.

Visiting Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, Wednesday 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service Thursday 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Northport, 330 Main Street, Northport, NY. A private cremation will follow. Her ashes will be placed beside her husband, Richard, at Calverton National Cemetery at a later date.
