I’m so sorry John was one of the kindest men I have ever met. He was a good friend to my dad Mike and took care of him when I couldn’t. I will be forever grateful for the kindness, compassion and patience John always had for everyone, he was truly a unique man. R.I.P. John you will be missed by many.

Our sincere condolences. John was our neighbor. We looked forward to seeing him out in the neighborhood, especially our dog, who he always had a treat for. We will miss his smile, kindness, and the conversations. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

John Murray was my father’s (Albert Sharlun) best friend. John’s dedication and helpfulness to my father was always so comforting for me, living a few states away from NY. John would just show up an my father’s house and work around the property for an hour or two, and sometimes not even come in for a Heineken (which we always kept). John loved his family, you could hear it in his voice as he told stories and spoke of what was happening in their lives. I am so grateful my father had a friend like John for the past decade +. Murray family, we are so sorry for your loss and grateful for John’s presence in our lives!

My deepest condolences… John will always hold a special place in my heart . So many Friday nights at nocellos watching Charlie Kaye band ..so many memories John stopping by the Turnip hill house for pre dinner laughs . Bike riding with ayden . Oskar bacon treats .. holiday stop overs . I know you are at peace in heaven with a smile drinking tea and anisette Love you John . Allyson, Matt, Ayden and Oskar .

John was a neighbor of ours. He was the kindest man you could ever meet. When a tree fell in our yard, he was at our house to help us clean up the debris. He loved the dogs in the neighborhood, and always had a treat tucked away in his truck. He was an avid bicyclist and you would often see him effortlessly riding the hills of Northport. His generous, warm spirit will be sorely missed. Deborah Frueh

My grandpa was one of the most generous guys out there he was always there for me and my family.He may not always have had a lot to say but when he did it was always something amazing.One of the funniest people I’ve ever got to know.I love you poppy, we miss you.

John was a wonderful neighbor. He was always quick to lend a hand to anyone in need! John kept treats for all the dogs in the neighborhood in his car Our dog Doug would not walk by him without getting a little something!
